Good news is coming to lovers of flavorful, healthy fruit bowls. Bowl’d Acai, the popular food truck that fuses flavor with healthy living, is gearing up to open their first brick-and-mortar location at 1958 Polk Street.
Bowl’d Acai began in August 2015 when lifelong friends Reza Movari and Angel Serratos found a mutual interest in health and fitness and sought out a way to share that passion with the world.
In a world overrun with sugary snacks and fatty meals, it can be difficult for people to access affordable, nutrient-rich meals on a short notice. Reza and Angel founded Bowl’d Acai to provide critically-needed nutrition to the surrounding community. Made with 100% organic Brazilian Acai berries, their Acai bowls are rich in micro-nutrients and antioxidants. In addition to their famous Acai bowls, they also offer poke bowls, raw juice, smoothies, and their most recent addition – grass fed bone broths.
Beginning as a humble food truck, the two friends quickly discovered how popular their Acai bowls had become. In short time they upgraded their fleet with two more trucks and began expanding into Oakland, Walnut Creek, and Downtown San Francisco. Now, the popularity of their trucks has reached its zenith and the team is finally ready to open their first full-time brick-and-mortar location.
Bowl’d Acai’s first full-time store will be replacing Basik Café, which previously operated at 1958 Polk Street. Basik Café also specialized in Acai bowls and smoothies, making the transition that much simpler. At the moment, the team at Bowl’d Acai is hoping to have this location operational by the middle of October, but can’t confirm anything more definitive as the plans are still being settled.
