According to a recently submitted permit application, Bay Area concept Hinodeya Ramen Bar plans to expand its San Francisco footprint.
Coming to 3340 Steiner Street, the eatery will land near establishments such as Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria, Home Plate, and Mel’s Drive-In.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the concept, Hinodeya offers a brief description of its origins on its website: “In 1885, when a new train line was constructed between Omiya and Utsunomiya, Hasuda Station was opened on the eastern part of Saitama Prefecture. Soon afterward, Kanjiro Kuribara and his wife Tome founded a small dining place officially named Hinode-ya (literally Sunrise-house) in front of the west exit of Hasuda Station.”
The business currently operates three locations in San Francisco and one in Dallas, Texas.
What Now San Francisco contacted Hinodeya’s current owner, Masao Kuribara, to inquire about the expansion, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
