The smell of bacon will soon be in the air at the San Francisco airport. Chinese restaurant Silver Dragon Cafe has applied for a license to open an outpost of the bacon-centric cafe, Bacon Bacon, in United terminal 3.

Silver Dragon Cafe opened its own airport outpost in 2009, at Oakland International Airport, and according to the cafe’s website, president Lilly Mar is on the lookout for more airport partnerships.

What Now San Francisco reached out for details about the Bacon Bacon outpost, but Mar was not immediately available for comment. Bacon Bacon, however, confirmed the news of its arrival at SFO on Instagram, noting that it expects to open its airport spot sometime in 2021.

While Silver Dragon Cafe specializes in authentic Cantonese cuisine, Bacon Bacon is cooking up — yep, you guessed it — bacon. The menu lists a variety of breakfast sandwiches, burgers, burritos, sandwiches, and salads, each complete with its own serving of bacon somewhere in the mix.

Let’s be honest, there are no rules at the airport. And when it comes to meals, a day spent traveling is a cheat day. Airport delays are salvaged by fast food joints and morning cocktails, and if Bacon Bacon is going to offer us a bacon fried chicken sandwich with a side of bacon fries while we wait aimlessly for our flight, we’re not going to say no. In fact, we look forward to it. Stay tuned for more details.
