According to a recent permit filed with the City of Palo Alto, Anatolian Kitchen is moving to 340 California Ave. The new spot is currently home to The Port of Peri Peri, a Portuguese eatery. The change follows the closure of the restaurant’s previous Palo Alto location at 2323 Birch Street.
Anatolian Kitchen is a family-operated restaurant that offers traditional Eastern and Southern Kurdish and Turkish cuisine. On the eatery’s Facebook page, owner Dino Tekdemir shares that “everything is homemade, from the dolma to the bread and the Anatolian manti, prepared ravioli style.”
The restaurant menu includes salads, wraps, kebabs, and Anatolian plates. Some of the traditional dishes include mousaka, “sliced eggplant, ground lamb, beef, onion, zucchini, potato, red bell peppers, tomato, and parsley in a homemade tomato sauce, topped with bechamel sauce,” and manti, described as “ravioli-type pasta filled with meat, served with garlic and yogurt.”
Tekdemir has worked in the restaurant industry for ten years. In addition to Anatolian Kitchen, he owns Nemea Greek Taverna and Naschmarkt Restaurant.
What Now San Francisco was unable to contact a business representative by the time of publication. An opening date has not yet been announced.
