Americana Eatery is brought to us by Adam Farhi, who told What Now San Francisco this week that he is aiming to open in August. He adds that Americana Eatery will be an all-day breakfast spot, serving American cuisine with Italian flair. Farhi is still working out the menu details, as well as an online presence for the restaurant.

Farhi is no stranger to the industry, building a 17-year career in which he’s served as general manager or assistant general manager at restaurants throughout the Bay Area. He most recently was the Beverage & Operations Director for Tyler Florence’s Miller & Lux steakhouse at the Chase Center.

For its part, Massawa will be closing after more than three decades as one of the city’s top choices for Eritrean and Ethiopian cuisine. Established in Upper Haight in 1986, the restaurant moved to North Beach in 2015.

San Francisco Business Times reports that Massawa was forced to vacate the space due to unpaid rent and it is unclear whether or not they will return elsewhere. In any case, 532 Green St. will see a fresh start when its doors reopen as Americana Eatery this summer.
