This week What Now San Francisco has obtained public records indicating that a “Golla Restaurant” is planned for the Mission. According to a Type 47 permit application currently under review with the city, Golla plans to take over the former Brew Coop space at 819 Valencia St.
Representatives who submitted the application on behalf of the restaurant told What Now San Francisco that Golla will serve Tunisian cuisine and is owned by Rafik Bouzidi. He currently operates La Marsa in the theater district and recently opened Dar Fatma in FiDi. Based on recent reviews, it seems that Bouzidi may have success with this next venture.
La Marsa and Dar Fatma have been exceptional examples of North African, Mediterranean, and Tunisian cuisine in San Francisco, so we can only assume that Golla will be just as tasteful. What Now San Francisco was able to get a hold of Bouzidi, but he was unable to give comment at the time.
That said, we’ll just have to wait and see what Bouzidi has in store for Golla. We will update you with more information when it is obtained. Stay tuned.
