5 Tacos & Beers is coming soon to Berkeley! The Mexican restaurant and craft brew taphouse announced last week that they will be opening a location at 2914 College Ave. in Elmwood. Yecenia Rodriguez co-owns the Berkeley location alongside chef Lito Saldana, who founded 5 Tacos & Beers in Albany. Rodriguez tells What Now San Francisco that she expects this location to open this fall.
5 Tacos & Beers is a hit in Albany, where they are serving up homemade organic Mexican fare in their scratch kitchen. Using natural grass-fed meats raised without hormones or antibiotics, plus locally sourced produce, 5 Tacos & Beers specializes in crave-worthy tacos for carnivores, vegetarians, and vegans alike.
To go with their great taco offerings is a beer list of over 30 local craft brews, plus a selection of cocktails. The restaurant gives customers a reason to come back throughout the week, whether it’s for Meatless Monday, Taco Tuesday, or even brunch on the weekends.
Rodriguez says that Berkeley customers can expect the same concept when they finally open, which will hopefully be in September. Meanwhile, they are also working on opening a location in Walnut Creek later in the year.
